Thanks to everyone who participated in the first ever Third Shift Society fan art contest! There were lots of amazing entries, and picking just three winners was pretty tough. Without further ado, let’s get to the art:

Ghostelle submitted three pieces to the contest, but this one really caught my eye. I love Ellie’s expression, and the geometric brush strokes on the skull contrast nicely with the organic shapes in the rest of the image. The color choices are wonderful, and the detail of the breaking chains is a nice touch. An all-around great job!

There’s a lot to like about this entry from Kate, a.k.a. send_noodles (which is a fantastic username, by the way). She’s done a great job capturing the characters, drawing them with admirable accuracy even in such challenging poses. The strong composition, detailed magic circle, and thoughtful incorporation of the title all helped her snag that second place spot. Well done!

If you need proof that fighting ghosts isn’t all serious business, GreenSpleen has got you covered. His entries combine playful humor with bright colors, and this piece is no exception. Although it’s certainly not the most polished or complex, there’s a sense of exuberance to this entry that can’t help but make you smile.
